EMULSIFIERS FOR VEGETABLE AND MINERAL OILS

IQO has developed a line of emulsifiers for the formulation of vegetable and mineral oils for better performance when used as an adjuvant in agrochemicals. 

Adjuvants for agrochemicals:
These products are composed of a mineral or vegetable oil with certain physical and chemical characteristics, and an emulsifier to give a good emulsionability to the formulation. At least 3% emulsifier concentration is needed to obtain an acceptable emulsionability. The mineral oil should have a high content of non sulfonable compounds to ensure a low phytotoxicity. Density, viscosity, volatility, pour point and appropriate solvent power are important, since the permanence, the movement of the oil on the plant, and its ability to penetrate depend on these factors. .

Contact Insecticides:
Fast breaking: Products containing 0.2% to 0.5% of suitable emulsifier. Dispersion is achieved with addition of water and stirring. Should be sprinkled with special equipment. Medium breaking: Products containing 0.6% to 1% of suitable emulsifier. Added to water, produce fine dispersion without intense agitation. Slow breaking: Products containing 1% to 2% of suitable emulsifier. Added to water, generate an emulsion that breaks down slowly and can be applied with basic equipment

Emulsifiable oils for metal machining:

A suitable mineral oil plus an emulsifier additive give a final lubricating, antioxidant and bactericidal product.
